Hotels, Hostels, Paradores & Apartments galore!

Whether you choose one of the ubiquitous, inexpensive hostels, which have been up-scaled over the years and now resemble small one or two star hotels; or an iconic vintage hotel; or one of the many stunning and historical Paradores that are often converted monasteries, convents, castles or palaces, you'll be drawn away from them by all of the tantalizing streets, bars, parks and museums. In Spain, culture and history are always just a step away!

If you'd like to "live" like a Madrileño during your visit to the capital, an exceptional option is short term apartment rentals via Rentapart Magazine. There are many affordable and luxury apartments in the center of Madrid or just a short walk or subway ride away. Click the button to visit their website:

Once here, traveling by train (or bus) is easy and enjoyable!

Spain's rail system, la Red Nacional de Ferrocarriles Españoles, or simply RENFE (RAIN-fay) is  a fantastic way to see not only Spanish cities and towns, but also Spain's gorgeous and diverse landscape. A day trip from Madrid to Córdoba, Valladolid (or even Sevilla & Valencia!) is possible on the AVE (Alta Velocidad Española), the high-speed rail. Day trips from Madrid on regional rail to Avila, Segovia, Cuenca, Toledo, El Escorial, Aranjuez, Sigüenza, Guadalajara, and Alcalá de Henares to name several options, are very popular. Buses from Madrid will transport you to smaller nearby towns that aren't served by rail, such as Chinchón or Manzanares el Real which has the impressive castle of the Mendoza family, whose construction commenced in 1475.
